About This Site

This site exists to make one small but genuinely useful thing easy: measuring your pupillary distance (PD) so you can order glasses online with confidence.

Why we built it

Ordering glasses online saves money and time — until you reach the box asking for your PD and realize you do not have it. Many people never receive their PD from an eye exam, and measuring it by hand with a ruler can feel awkward and error-prone. We wanted to make a tool that gives you a reliable PD estimate using something you already have: your device's camera.

Alongside the tool, we publish clear, honest articles about pupillary distance and eyewear, because understanding the measurement helps you get a better result.

Our approach to privacy

We believe a tool that looks at your face should respect your privacy completely. That is why our measurement runs entirely in your browser. Your camera images are processed on your own device and are never uploaded or stored anywhere. We never see them. This is not a setting you have to turn on — it is simply how the tool is built. We try to be honest about what an at-home tool can and cannot do. Software-based PD measurement, used carefully, can get close to a professional measurement — close enough for most everyday glasses. But it is still an estimate, and we say so. We base our tool and our guidance on published research about how these measurements perform, and we encourage anyone with a strong or complex prescription to confirm their PD with a qualified professional.

We would rather give you a realistic expectation than an overconfident promise.

How the site is supported
