Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 16, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how this website ("we," "us," or "the site") handles information when you use our pupillary distance (PD) measurement tool and read our content. We have tried to write it in plain language. The short version: the measurement itself happens entirely on your device, and your photos never leave your browser.

The most important point: your images stay on your device

Our PD measurement tool uses your device's camera and runs entirely in your web browser. The face detection and all measurement calculations happen locally, on your own device.

We do not upload, transmit, store, or have any access to the images or video from your camera. They never leave your browser. We never see them, and they are not sent to any server — ours or anyone else's. When you close the page, nothing from your camera is retained.

This is a deliberate design choice and the foundation of how the tool works.

Information we do not collect

Because of the design above, we do not collect:

Information that may be collected automatically

Like most websites, when you visit this site certain limited technical information may be processed automatically by our hosting provider and by the third-party services described below. This can include your approximate location (derived from your IP address), browser type, device type, the pages you visit, and the date and time of your visit. This kind of information is standard for website operation and analytics, and is not linked to any personal identity by us.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser. Our own measurement tool does not require cookies to function. However, cookies may be set on this site by the third-party services we use, primarily for advertising, as described below. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time.

Third-party advertising and Google AdSense

We use third-party advertising, including Google AdSense, to help support this site. The following disclosures are required and important:

If you have not opted out, cookies from other third-party vendors or ad networks may also be used to serve ads on this site.

For more information about how Google uses data when you use our partners' sites or apps, see Google's policy at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding personal data, such as the right to access, correct, or delete information, or to opt out of personalized advertising. Because we do not collect or store personal data ourselves, most such requests relating to advertising are best directed to the relevant third-party services using the opt-out links above. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or a US state with privacy legislation such as California, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CPRA.

Children's privacy

This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review it periodically.
